This pattern began with simple pencil sketches, pulling inspiration straight from the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon that I grew up loving. From there, I refined the artwork, added color in Photoshop, and built out the repeating layout that eventually became the finished shirt.
You’ll see Baxter Stockman in both his lab-coat human form and his fly transformation, along with his supercomputer, Mousers, a rat cameo, and even Shredder in a creepy fly form. It was a chance to bring together some of my favorite parts of that series in one playful design.
This was such a fun project to create in collaboration with RSVLTS, and it’s always exciting to see something that started as sketches on paper turn into a shirt you can actually wear.
